The Story Behind Empower Society
Empower Society was founded by siblings Tiana Williams and her sister Tinesha, who had Down syndrome.
Like many families raising a child with special needs, ours often faced the same question other families ask every day:
“What resources are available in our area?”
Our parents spent time searching for therapies, programs, and services that could support Tinesha’s development. Once those resources were found, they made a meaningful difference in her life.
They created opportunities.
They supported her independence.
They helped her thrive.
But finding them often required time, research, and guesswork.
So we asked a simple question:
What if families could find everything they need in one place?
That question led to the creation of the Empower Society platform — a technology solution designed to connect families with trusted services, organizations, and opportunities.
